One of the most common questions we hear is: "What size bike should I rent?"

The good news is that choosing the right bike size is easier than you might think—and we're always happy to help if you're unsure.

At Bike It! Bellagio, we fit thousands of riders every season. While height is a great starting point, it's only part of the story. Everyone's body is built a little differently, which is why two people of the same height may be most comfortable on different frame sizes.

Start with Your Height

Our sizing charts provide an excellent starting point for selecting the right bike. Keep in mind that these are guidelines, and there's intentionally some overlap between sizes on the road bike chart.

Why Do the Sizes Overlap?

You may notice that several heights appear in two different frame sizes. That's not a mistake. Bike sizing isn't an exact science because people have different body proportions.

For example, imagine two riders who are both 180 cm tall.

One rider has:

• longer legs

• a shorter torso

The other has:

• shorter legs

• a longer torso

Although they're the same height, they'll likely be most comfortable on different bikes.

Riders with a longer torso often prefer the larger frame size because it provides a little more reach to the handlebars and a roomier riding position. This rider might opt for the size 57 frame.

Riders with proportionally longer legs often prefer the smaller frame size. The shorter reach creates a more comfortable position while the saddle can simply be raised to accommodate longer legs. This rider might opt for the 55 frame.

That's why our guides always ask a few extra questions before assigning your bike—we're looking beyond height alone.

For Shorter Riders: Stand-Over Height Matters Too

On our e-bikes, one measurement that's often overlooked is stand-over height—the distance from the ground to the top tube. When you're stopped, you should be able to comfortably stand over the bike without balancing on your tiptoes.

This is especially important on our T-Tronik e-MTB and City & Trekking bikes. The Small frame has a top tube that sits approximately 70 cm above the ground.

If your inseam measures less than 71 cm, we generally recommend choosing our step-through City & Trekking bike instead. This frame has no top tube, which makes it much easier and more comfortable to get on and off the bike, especially when stopping frequently to admire the views around Lake Como.

Choosing the Right Bike for Kids

Children grow quickly, so age isn't always the best way to size a bike. Instead, we size kids' bikes by height.

Don't Stress About Getting It Perfect

The sizing chart is simply a starting point.
